The Federal Trade Commission has proposed a rule that would control these fees. Their official comment period is open right now, and they need to hear from us. Send an official comment now to make your voice heard. The FTC's new rule would ban businesses from jacking up bills with hidden fees, ensuring consumers know exactly how much they're paying. Businesses would have to include all mandatory fees up front, making it easier for consumers to compare options to shop for the lowest price.
