Jason, Nearly every school system across Alaska is struggling to meet their basic needs! Classrooms are underfunded, teachers are overworked and underpaid, and our students are paying the price. Gov. Mike Dunleavy has made it clear where his priorities lie – and it's not with Alaska's public schools. Despite passing an education bill with overwhelming bipartisan support – which included a historic increase to the BSA funding formula – Gov. Dunleavy held the bill hostage, demanding that we divert public funds to private religious and charter schools! Gov. Dunleavy's veto shows that he is willing to put politics over our children's future. With the governor's veto standing in the way of progress, we're working to secure a veto-proof majority and deliver for Alaska's teachers, students, and families!
