Last night I sat in the House chamber for two hours listening to Donald Trump.
I don't recommend this experience.
"This is the same chamber," I thought, as he rambled endlessly, "that his mob tried to breach when they sacked the Capitol on January 6th … the very same day my Senate victory was called in Georgia."

Last night, returned to power, in that same chamber, he was cheered by Republican legislators who'd run for their lives from his hooligans four years ago.
It must never be forgotten that he tried to steal the presidency.
That he let his mob ransack the seat of our democracy as he watched on TV from the White House.
And that once he regained power, he pardoned them all.

Yet I fear it could be forgotten.
Because Donald Trump is the most shameless, brazen liar in American history.
At every opportunity he tries to rewrite history.

Just a few examples from last night's speech:
Trump claimed to "drain the swamp" while he let corruption run rampant.
He's suspended enforcement of the law that forbids bribery of foreign officials. (!!!)
He illegally fired the Director of the Office of Government Ethics and seventeen independent Inspectors General. (They investigate corruption.)
Elon Musk's Starlink (surprise!) just magically got the FAA contract for technology to manage U.S. airspace … with your tax dollars.

Trump claimed victory over "censorship" while his administration intimidates the free press.
His Administration is now "investigating" NPR, PBS, CBS, and NBC. (The list keeps growing.)
He barred the AP from the Oval Office and Air Force One for refusing to call the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America."

Trump claimed to love law enforcement after pardoning his foot soldiers who brutalized police on January 6th.
They assaulted cops with batons.
With stun guns.
With bear spray.
And then he let them all go free.

I know it's tiring to keep calling out his bull****.
But we have to insist on the truth.
Because otherwise MAGA loyalists amplify every falsehood, uncontested.
The most notorious of them all, Marjorie Taylor Greene, was cheering her heart out last night for every lie.

An update on Marjorie...
Recently she confirmed again publicly she might run against me.
And Trump said he would "fight like hell" to elect her to the Senate if she does.

So, the situation is serious.
Trump is on a blitz. He wants to rule America like a strongman.
His most fanatical ally in the House wants to take this seat and become a Senator, where she can do vastly more damage.
But remember: you backed me five years ago.
I won, unseating an incumbent Republican Senator, in America's most competitive battleground state.
That victory won control of the Senate.
Now I'm up for re-election.
And now, again, the path back from crisis runs through Georgia.
And now, again, Jason, I need you with me.
