Dear Jason, When I made the decision to run for mayor of New York City, I wanted to give back to the community that has given me so much. I set out to build a campaign based on a vision of competent government and public service. For the past several months, I've been energized by speaking with fellow New Yorkers about what makes the city so special, and what we can do together to make it function better and more fairly. I'm proud of that effort. While the results didn't go our way Tuesday night, I feel okay knowing that we brought our A game. This team had my back every step of the way. We gave it our all, and there's not a thing I would have done differently. I can't thank you enough for believing in me and our mission. I congratulate Zohran Mamdani for running a very strong campaign. The crisis of affordability is something all New Yorkers are rightly concerned about. I believe to my core that public service is the most honorable profession, and while it wasn't my time to be mayor, my passion for public service to this great city will never fade. Let's keep talking - public transit, affordable housing, you name it. But for now, I'm so proud of what we accomplished together. Thank you once again for everything. With gratitude, Scott | | | | |
