Grateful for you, folks

Folks,

As we head into Thanksgiving, I’ve been thinking a lot about what this community has carried on its shoulders this year. Forward Blue was built from the ground up by people who refuse to sit out, who refuse to give in, and who refuse to let Donald Trump and his far-right movement decide the future our generation will inherit. And every single time we’ve asked you to step in, you’ve shown up.

I’m grateful for you. Deeply.

Earlier this month, we saw something real take shape: a new blue wave rising from young voters who are tired of being talked down to and even more tired of being ignored. It wasn’t a fluke. It wasn’t luck. It was the result of volunteers and donors pulling together to prove that our generation isn’t apathetic under this administration.

But now we’re staring down the midterms, and 2026 is coming at us fast. This next year will decide whether we can finally break the MAGA grip on Congress or whether Trump’s allies lock in power and make it impossible to reverse the damage. We don’t get to wait until next fall. The groundwork for 2026 has to be laid right now, while young voters are engaged, energized, and ready for more.

That’s the thing giving me hope this Thanksgiving. Not blind optimism, and not nostalgia for some “better time” that never really existed. Just the simple truth that when people like you stand together, we can shift the direction of the country. We already started to do it this month. And I genuinely believe we can finish the job in 2026.

Thank you for being in this with us. Thank you for backing young organizers when most of Washington still treats them like afterthoughts. Thank you for proving that democracy is strongest when it’s powered by people who care enough to fight for it.

With gratitude,

David Austin

Executive Director, Forward Blue

👋 A quick, candid note before you go 👋

We’re behind on our November budget goals at the exact moment when we need to be hiring, training, and resourcing organizers for 2026 to re-elect folks like Jon Ossoff and flip critical seats, like in Ohio with Sherrod. Fundraising is the unglamorous part of building a movement… but it’s the part that resources our big wins.

If you can, will you match our average grassroots gift of $27 today? Every dollar helps us close the gap and lock in the early investments that make the biggest difference.
