| Jason, During my small business walk in Hampton, I heard from a nurse who works in the Intensive Care Unit at a local hospital, and she was clear: The Trump administration has no business removing nursing and other healthcare fields from their definition of a professional degree. By redefining what counts as a "professional degree," the Trump administration has restricted how much aspiring nurses, physical therapists, dental hygienists, and other healthcare students can borrow for graduate school. That means higher out-of-pocket costs and more financial barriers for the people we desperately need in our hospitals and clinics. At a time when our country is already facing a severe nursing shortage, this decision doesn't just hurt students — it hurts patients. Nurses, physical therapists, dental hygienists, and other healthcare workers deserve to be recognized for their training, education and dedication to keeping our communities healthy, not pushed out of the profession by bad policy and financial barriers. To stand up for these workers, and the patients who rely on them, we need to grow our grassroots movement. We're coming up on our FEC deadline, and your support today makes a real difference in how many voters we can reach. Will you chip in $25 or whatever you can to help us fight back and protect New Hampshire's healthcare system? |
