Folks, Farmers are getting crushed and Republicans are lying straight to their faces.
This year’s harvest should be a win. Instead, overflowing silos and collapsing prices tell a different story. Trump’s trade war blew up relationships with China — once the largest buyer of U.S. soybeans — and those markets still haven’t come back. The result? Too much supply, nowhere to go, and prices so low farmers can’t cover their costs.
And Republicans have the nerve to say farmers aren’t hurting.
That’s a straight up lie. NPR reports farmers are stuck storing grain they can’t sell, watching its value drop while debt piles up. Some are hanging on by their fingernails. Others are already going under.
Farm bankruptcies are rising. Rural towns are hurting. And Republicans are hoping voters don’t notice.
We won’t let them hide it.
Farmers are out of time. Republicans are out of excuses.
