I’m disappointed, Jason -- not for me, but for the people of Georgia. If David Perdue doesn’t want to have a debate in a public forum, if he doesn’t want to have a robust discussion of the issues and contrast our visions for the future of this state, especially in the midst of a pandemic, then he shouldn’t be seeking re-election to the U.S. Senate. Senator Perdue is not entitled to this Senate seat. He has disgraced himself time and time again, and now he’s hiding from his constituents. Let’s vote him out! I believe public servants have a solemn obligation to engage publicly in discourse and debate. Senator Perdue and I should contrast our visions, qualifications, and records -- and take that directly to the people for them to decide. We should be discussing how we chart a course out of this pandemic, how we invest in economic recovery, how we ensure families in Georgia and across the country have the basics they need to flourish -- health care, housing, dignified work that pays a living wage, and equal justice under the law. Senator Perdue has shown no interest in doing any of that. He has no track record of accomplishments, no issues to champion, and no agenda other than defeating me.
