In case you missed it, South Carolina is moving on up, Jason:

President Biden has recommended South Carolina as the first-in-the-nation primary state on the Democratic Party nominating calendar beginning in 2024.

The New York Times: How Democrat's New Primary Calendar Changes the Chessboard. President Biden's push to abandon Iowa for younger, racially diverse states is likely to reward candidates who connect with the party's most loyal voters.

Jason, these are important and necessary changes. The nominating calendar of states to select our presidential nominee should reflect the diversity of the country and the base of the Democratic Party.

South Carolina, the early slate additions of Georgia and Michigan, and mainstays Nevada and New Hampshire will keep our party accountable to its voting base — because Black, Latino, Native, and Asian American voters deserve an equal voice in our nominating process.

Jason, if you agree that the Democratic National Committee should place South Carolina first on the presidential nominating calendar beginning in 2024, add your name to our petition today:

Diversifying our presidential primary calendar is a necessary next step to ensure the Democratic Party reflects the growing diversity of our great nation.
