Jason,
When I lay out my theory on how we'll win this election, I talk a lot about "pro-democracy voters" — folks who might normally consider voting Republican but are increasingly repelled by Trump.
Well, here's what that looks like in action.
Donald Trump is the only Republican still running for president. But in the primaries last week, huge percentages of Republicans voted against him. In Florida, it was 19%... in Ohio, it was 21%... 22% in Arizona… even in Kansas, a state that no one considers a battleground, it was 25%!
It's consistent: One in five Republican voters oppose their nominee. And that's a crystal clear path to victory. Our research shows that reaching those voters with credible messengers can get them to follow through on rejecting Donald Trump. And that's exactly what we plan to do.
This week's FEC deadline is a test to see how well we can fund this work — will you chip in and help us reach our grassroots goal?
Keep in mind we're not the only ones who see these numbers. I guarantee you the data people at the RNC are pulling their hair out over this.
And trust me, they're not going to sit back and just let these voters abandon their party. They're going to be spending big to try to win them back — lying about Joe Biden and trying to laugh off Trump's latest threats of violence or dreams of being a dictator.
The data shows these pro-democracy voters side with us when presented with Trump's dangerous behavior. It's especially persuasive when it comes from a trusted voice — someone who isn't overtly partisan but who can communicate with authority what's at stake in this election for American democracy. Our team is recruiting these trusted messengers and lifelong patriots who can do exactly that.
This fundraising deadline is about ensuring we can put those messengers in front of these key voters in as many battleground states as possible. I'm hoping you can help.
Thank you,
Amy
