Today marks five years since the January 6 attack on our Capitol, a day when our democracy was tested in ways we never imagined.
I will never forget watching those events unfold. The fear, the violence, and the attempt to overturn a free and fair election were a stark reminder of how fragile our institutions can be when they're undermined by extremism and lies.
Five years later, the work of protecting our democracy is still urgent. We must defend the peaceful transfer of power, safeguard our elections, and ensure that no elected official, including those who enabled or excused that day, is ever given free rein to undermine our values again.
I'm running for Congress because the Hudson Valley deserves leaders who stand up for truth, accountability, and the rule of law. Leaders who will put country over party, every single time.
