| Jason, I want to be clear about something: ICE's actions are not making our communities safer. Right here in New Hampshire, ICE just announced plans to open an immigrant detainee processing center in a warehouse in Merrimack. This declaration was made without even notifying local officials, demonstrating their total lack of regard for the community. Across the country, Trump's immigration enforcement strategy is based on cruelty, NOT due process, and it has resulted in tragic consequences for American citizens. In Minneapolis, Renee Good, a 37-year-old American citizen and mother of a six-year-old, was shot and killed by an ICE agent. The video is deeply disturbing. Renee's family, community, and the City of Minneapolis deserve a full, transparent investigation conducted by all levels of law enforcement to ensure accountability. The Trump administration's approach is failing by every measure. This approach is not making us more secure; instead, it violates due process and costs taxpayers millions. Even ICE's own data shows that fewer than 25% of the people currently detained in New Hampshire are accused of any criminal offense. Protecting public safety is one of the most important jobs of our local, state, and federal government. This is impossible in the climate of fear and brutality that ICE is creating in cities and towns across this country. I am running for Congress to change this, and it starts with ICE. If you believe this is not who we are, and that it cannot continue, I hope you'll stand with me and join this campaign for Congress. Be in this fight with us. Will you chip in today to help power this people-first campaign? |
