When I get to Congress, I'll fight like hell to bring these costs down. But first, I need to win this race.

 

I traveled more than 5,000 miles in five weeks, talking with Alaskans across the state. No matter where I went, one issue came up over and over again: the cost of fuel. When I was in Kotzebue at the end of May, gas was $8.59 a gallon! The cost of fuel affects everything. It's how we heat our homes. It's how we get to work. It's how our communities put food on the table. In rural Alaska, there's no workaround. You pay what it costs, or you go without. Our leaders should be doing everything they can to lower costs for Alaskans — not raising them by supporting wars of choice and handing out more tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations. That's exactly what extremist Nick Begich and Mike Johnson did. When I get to Congress, I'll fight like hell to bring these costs down. But first, I need to win this race.
