They betrayed our country, and now they’re raking in donations

Jason, someone has to do something.   Members of Congress who betrayed the Constitution on January 6th just posted "eye-popping" fundraising numbers. As Politico put it, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who raised over $3 million in the first quarter of 2021, seem to have "actually benefited" from what they did on the day of the attack on the Capitol.    If it wasn't clear already, it is now: The members of the "Sedition Caucus" will not face any consequences for their actions unless people like us make it happen.    That's why Democratic Majority Action is focused on taking on the most dangerous seditionists who are beatable in 2022 and going all in to end their political careers.    No one else has a mission quite like ours — will you chip in today to help lay the groundwork to defeat the members of Congress who betrayed our democracy?   What I'm excited about is that we're not rolling out the same-old strategy in this fight. We're not just throwing a whole bunch of negative ads on TV and hoping it works. We're taking a new approach to political organizing, amplifying the voices of real constituents from our target states and districts to build a groundswell online.    It's not just a hunch. The data is clear that trusted messengers are far more effective at moving an electorate than traditional political advertising.   Knowing what we know now, it's obvious these members of the Sedition Caucus think they'll be fine as long as they can keep firing up their base. But many have unleashed a real backlash among the majority of their constituents — they can be defeated, if we do our jobs.   I need to be honest with you. For me, this isn't just about winning a few congressional seats. This is about showing once and for all that there's a line that can't be crossed in our politics without paying a real price.
