Jason,
Let me start by saying thank you.
In the run up to our FEC fundraising deadline, you stepped up to support the mission to defeat the worst members of the Sedition Caucus in Congress. Because of your help, we're able to add a new race to our list of targets.
We turned to you to nominate our next target — someone who betrayed their oath of office and represents a district that we believe we can flip.
We've narrowed it down to three finalists for our next target race, and we'd love your input. Go vote today — weigh in on who we should go all in to defeat next fall.
This team sent in a lot of great suggestions — and a handful of helpful picks for the 2024 election, like Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley.
The first finalist is Rep. Mo Brooks (AL-05), one of the ringleaders of the effort to overturn the election results on January 6th. He spoke at the rally that day, telling the crowd to think about our country's founders who sacrificed their blood and "sometimes their lives" for the cause before asking, "Are you willing to do the same?" Now he's actually using part of that speech in ads as he runs for a promotion to the United States Senate.
Several folks mentioned Rep. Lauren Boebert (CO-03) our second finalist, who played a prominent role in inciting violence on January 6th, tweeting "Today is 1776" shortly before the attack. During the attack, she went on social media to broadcast police movements and the exact location of several members of Congress, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi — undoubtedly putting lives at risk. She is infamous for claiming to carry a firearm in the halls of Congress, and she won her election by just 6% in 2020.
Finally, one of the leading names we heard was Rep. Devin Nunes (CA-22), who tried to shift blame for the January 6th attack to Nancy Pelosi. He's better known, though, for shamelessly doing Donald Trump's bidding during the Russia investigation by trying to politicize U.S. intelligence. That Trump loyalism earned him the Presidential Medal of Freedom just two days before the attack on the Capitol. Nunes' race will be one of the most hotly contested swing districts in the House.
This is an important decision of where to direct our resources, and I don't want to make it without your input.
Tell me: Which of these three Sedition Caucus members do you want to take on and defeat next fall?
I'll be in touch soon with the results.
Thank you,
Amy
