Friend: With early voting underway in the runoff here in Georgia, folks are turning out all across the state. But I need your help to raise another $500,000 before our end-of-month deadline so we can keep our TV ads on the air and fund our critical get-out-the-vote efforts. But before I ask you to make a grassroots contribution, I'd like to tell you a story about a very special voter: My mom. As a Black teenager growing up in Waycross, GA, in the 1950s, my mom used to pick somebody else's cotton. She raised 12 boys and girls in public housing on the west side of Savannah. And while money was short, Mom's love was always long – she was always telling us we could do anything we put our mind to. |
The final tally from the general election shows we can win; we led Walker by a razor-thin margin. But here's the problem: National Republicans are going all-in to defeat me, and GOP donors are flooding Walker's campaign with over $58 million. Hitting our grassroots fundraising goals is the only way we'll be able to fight back, keep up our momentum, and win. And I don't take a cent from corporate PACs, so truly, friend, I'm counting on your grassroots support. |
