If I had all the money in the world…

Let's talk about our plan.

Jason,

I think a lot these days about the oath I took as a Marine.

I swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Trust me, it took me a long time to see that oath through the lens of American politics. It would have been unthinkable just a decade ago. Then Donald Trump happened. He and his MAGA agenda represent the single-greatest threat to our democracy of my lifetime.

It's why, if I had all the money in the world, I'd spare no expense to make sure that Donald Trump gets defeated this fall. Because if we fall short this November, it could easily mark the end of the American experiment.

We can't let that psyche us out. Instead, let's focus on what we're going to do to prevent it from happening. Our team has a plan, and I think it's a damn good one. It looks like this:

  • Identify the voters who hold the keys to the outcome in this election.

I've been calling them "pro-democracy voters" — because while they might typically lean Republican, they are worried what a second Trump term would mean for the America we know and love. When they hear him promise to be a "dictator on Day One" or tell Putin and Russia to "do whatever the hell they want" with Ukraine, or they hear about the twisted, unAmerican proposals in Project 2025, they are so much less likely to support him. The big question is whether they'll hear the truth about the stakes in this election.

  • Find the right messengers to reach pro-democracy voters.

The Harris campaign and the Democratic Party might do their best to persuade some of these voters, but our data suggests that the folks who will be most effective are people who've spent their careers serving in the military or in their communities. We are building a roster of the exact right voices who can deliver the exact right message at the exact right time to win over the exact right voters.

  • Put those messengers in front of those voters as often as possible.

This is the easy part. We plan to run an aggressive voter outreach operation to ensure that the right messengers reach the target voters in battleground states as often as possible before Election Day. Of course, this is also the part that requires the biggest budget lift. It's why I send emails like this.
This plan is data-driven. It's targeted. It will work — if, and only if, we execute it.

That's where you come in.

Our monthly fundraising deadline is Wednesday, and we're falling short of our target. I'm counting on you to come through right now, to make sure we don't have to scale back anything we have planned between now and November.

Will you make a donation today to fund this work and help save our democracy from Donald Trump?

At times like this, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Look, I won't deny the stakes in this election are intense. But that's when we each have to remember that none of us is in this alone. We're in this together, and if we're all pushing in the same direction, we will win.

Thank you,

Amy
