| Jason - The word is out in Trumpworld: If Pete Hegseth is going to get confirmed to be the next Secretary of Defense, he's going to have to lie through his teeth to get there. Here's how desperate it is: FIRST, Hegseth gave on a televised interview in which he said the following: "I'm straight-up just saying we should not have women in combat roles. It hasn't made us more effective." THEN, that remark didn't go over well with, you know, half the population — including thousands of women who've served this country with honor and distinction. As someone who completed three tours in combat, I can tell you it came across as one of the most arrogant, disrespectful and "straight-up" ignorant things I've ever heard from someone who wants to be a military leader in the year 2024. NOW, the Trump team is in clean-up mode. Hegseth just appeared on Fox News to "clarify comments that have been misconstrued that I somehow don't support women in the military." (Yeah, Pete, what could have given us that idea?!) It's clear: This nomination is on life support, and they believe only bald-faced lying can save it. Meanwhile, there's a pressure campaign behind the scenes to help enough U.S. senators find the courage to vote him down. We're doing everything we can to prevent this MAGA stooge from leading our national defense, and I need your help — chip in if you can and let's deliver a resounding defeat to the incoming administration and help keep our military from falling into extreme, partisan hands.
