More allegations of sexual misconduct emerged, cementing a pattern that includes a covered-up sexual assault accusation. His own mother called out his behavior of mistreating women to Hegseth directly, referring to "all the women (and I know it's many) you have abused in some way" Look, that's all really, really bad and most likely would be disqualifying for a standard nominee. But opposing Hegseth is about so much more than the ethical and moral shortcomings that are piling up. This man would be the single-most unqualified Defense Secretary in our nation's history. His sole leadership experience involves running two nonprofit organizations into debt. Leading those organizations involved a few dozen people. Leading the military would put him in charge of nearly 3 million. His defenders say he's a "changed man" and that he'll "stop drinking" if he gets confirmed. (I wish that was a joke.) That seems like a hell of a risk to take. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't think you should get to have one of the most important jobs in the country just because Donald Trump liked what you said on TV.  Ready for some good news? The Hegseth nomination is on the ropes, and this is a fight we absolutely can win. Just in the last few days, we've heard from Republican senators who seem ready to vote him down — if we put a little elbow grease into this fight, we can keep Hegseth out of the Pentagon.  I'm asking you to chip in to fund our pressure campaign to help raise the voices of veterans of all political stripes in opposition to Hegseth — let's deliver an early defeat and set the tone for the second Trump administration.  I'll be out there every day speaking out, because this is way too important to leave to chance.
