I can't believe this is happening, Jason. Today at noon, Eric Adams met with Donald Trump's border czar, Tom Homan. This comes the same week that Trump's DOJ lifted the federal corruption investigation into Adams, stating explicitly that the charges were not dropped based on the merits of the case, but instead so that Mayor Adams can be forced to do Trump's bidding. And it comes one day after Homan leaked that Adams needs to do more to carry out Trump's mass deportation plans in New York City. I want to be clear on what this means. Eric Adams, the Mayor of New York City, is compromised. Adams is selling out our city, our values, and our people so that he can escape his legal problems. This is not leadership, it's capitulation. New York deserves better than a mayor who will turn over control of our city to the Trump Administration. When I'm mayor, my approach will be guided by a simple North Star: Donald Trump does not run New York City, and New Yorkers deserve the right to feel protected in their city. So I'll do what I've done my entire life — I'll stand with New York City. But to get there, I need your help. Will you pitch in $25 today to elect a mayor who will fight for New Yorkers and not himself? Eric Adams has made his choice to stand with Donald Trump.
