Two related developments —
1. JD Vance's "Munich" moment.
The Vice President disgraced his office Friday in a speech at the Munich Security Conference.
Rather than unifying America's free and democratic allies, Vance tried to infect them with MAGA fear and division.
He lectured our allies that their greatest threat was the sinister "threat from within" (sound familiar?) — referring, it seems, to liberalism and immigrants.
He berated them to elevate their own extreme far-right political parties.
And after refusing to meet with the German Chancellor (while in Germany!), he met with the head of Germany's far-right AfD party, who are backed by Elon Musk and seen as political heirs to Nazism.
2. Trump collaborates with Orban to end U.S. pro-democracy efforts.
The New York Times reported today that the Trump operative responsible for dismantling USAID worked with Hungary's authoritarian government to end U.S. pro-democracy efforts in that country.
Hungary is ruled by right-wing strongman Viktor Orban, who supports Trump and Putin.
"The next day," reports the Times, "Mr. Orban took to state radio to announce that media outlets, pro-democracy groups and other organizations that have received money from USAID would be considered 'illegal agents.'"
Jason, MAGA is not just a threat here at home — they want to spread their darkness globally.
They are working to elevate extreme far-right political parties in Europe.
They are ending American diplomatic efforts to defend freedom and democracy.
They envision a world ruled by unaccountable strongmen who crush the opposition and scapegoat the weak.
We, the opposition here in the United States, have a historic duty to turn the tide with a landslide victory in 2026.
I don't want our kids growing up in a world ruled with impunity by men like Trump, Musk, Putin, and Orban, with neo-Nazis running Germany, where might makes right and corruption is normal.
We must refuse this future.
I want them to grow up in a world defined by universal human rights, freedom, progress, and tolerance.
The fight back requires victory in 2026.
It requires victory here in Georgia, where I am the only Democratic U.S. Senator seeking re-election in a state Trump won, and therefore MAGA's #1 target for defeat.
