Hi Jason! It's Elyse, Scott's wife. In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I wanted to share the story of how I met my husband, and why I know he's the best candidate to be New York City's next mayor. Before I explain further, would you help me surprise Scott by chipping in $10 today? He has a Mid-Month fundraising deadline tonight and helping him reach his goal would be the perfect Valentine's gift. I first connected with Scott 19 years ago during the annual Museum Mile Festival in Manhattan. We exchanged a few smiles, and kept running into each other at local political events. One thing led to another, and we started dating, got married, and had two amazing children! I'll tell you upfront, Scott is the kind of person you meet and think, "He truly loves this city." As a lifelong activist who got his start in politics as a teenager, I've witnessed how over the years he's always used his ambition for the good of our community. It helps that we share a lot of the same values, too. From Friday family dinners to late night conversations about campaign strategy, I know that Scott's heart is fully in this race because he cares so much for this city and its people. He will lead New Yorkers with vision, competence, and optimism, and I'll be by his side supporting him the whole way. But I'm not the only one Scott is counting on. There's no winning this race without a strong grassroots team to power our voter outreach strategy and help us connect with New Yorkers in every corner of the city. That's where you come in, Jason. Before I see Scott later, would you help me out by chipping in $10 or more to his Mid-Month fundraising goal before tonight's midnight deadline? He's falling short by $4,000 and I want to give him good news! Thank you, Jason. Scott appreciates your support more than you know. Happy Valentine's Day! — Elyse | | | | |
