Happy President's Day, Jason. While we normally spend this day honoring the presidents who served our country, today I can't help but reflect on a crisis of leadership in our city. That's because right now, our current president, Donald Trump, is also effectively the mayor of New York City! In case you haven't heard, Eric Adams, our elected mayor, is compromised, now that Trump's Justice Department has ordered a pause in the prosecution of the mayor's federal corruption charges—a pause that they openly acknowledge is in exchange for Adams' cooperation. Adams is Trump's puppet, and the president has him on speed dial to do his bidding. New Yorkers will face enough problems with Trump in charge in Washington, DC.
