Urgent Legal Update >>

Anti-democratic politicians want to silence our grassroots movement

Jason,

We have an urgent update on our amendment to expand Medicaid coverage in Florida: We're suing the Florida state government.

The Governor has just signed HB 1205, an anti-democratic bill that puts even more outrageous regulations on citizen-led amendments into law.

They're trying to make it nearly impossible for Floridians' voices to be heard – but that's not how democracy works.

We won't let them silence voters. We've launched a Rapid Response Fund to help fund this legal battle, and we're asking you to chip in $10 right now. We're a grassroots movement that wants to put healthcare power back in the hands of the people, but we need your help to do it.

Here's a fact: Florida already has one of the most strict processes for getting a citizen-led initiative like ours on the ballot.

But that's not enough for anti-democratic politicians. They want to silence grassroots movements like ours.

Public polls prove that a majority of Floridians want to expand Medicaid. And we want to be the ones to help them achieve it. But with HB 1205 heading to the Governor's desk, our work becomes that much more difficult.

That's why we're suing.

Our legal team doesn't have a minute to waste: We need to raise $25,000 to our Rapid Response Fund right now so that we can fight this – can we count on you to chip in $10 or $25 today? >>
