Today, Republicans passed huge tax cuts for billionaires, gigantic tech companies, and corporations — giving our tax dollars away to the very people responsible for increasing costs on Americans.
At a time when the only right move is to make things more affordable for everyday people, Republicans chose to kick 17 million Americans, including children, off of their Medicaid, cut funding for women's healthcare, and take food out of the mouths of the most vulnerable Americans by cutting SNAP — all in order to hand out favors and cash to their campaign contributors.
Right now, American families are struggling to pay for the basics — rationing medicine and putting food back at the grocery store checkout when it's out of reach. Republicans chose this moment to break all the rules to pass a bill to funnel more money to billionaires — the one percent of the one percent — that will make it harder for the rest of us to live.
It's hard to imagine anything less American on the 4th of July. I know we all did our best to stop this bill, but we have another opportunity with next year's elections. Some of this bill will not take effect until after the midterms, so we have a chance to stop this by taking back Congress. Keep calling, keep emailing, and keep writing your representatives — and then do your part to make sure Democrats win in 2026.
