The authoritarian playbook

Donald Trump is now using the U.S. military to police American citizens.

FIRST: He deployed the National Guard to terrorize people on the streets of Los Angeles.

THEN: He sent troops and other federal law enforcement to patrol the streets of Washington, DC.

NOW: He’s threatening to send the military to other cities like Chicago and Baltimore.

This is straight out of the authoritarian playbook. Seize military power and silence dissent.

Trump doesn’t care about constitutional norms, he only wants one thing. Unfettered power. And he’s willing to sacrifice anything to get it.

It’s up to us to stand firmly against this authoritarianism and fight to defend and strengthen our democracy. The only way to stop this wannabe dictator from getting what he wants is with a mass movement. Sign on now to join us in opposing the use of military force in American cities.
