| Jason, Yesterday in Minneapolis, an armed man took the lives of young children as they attended mass at their Catholic School. Instead of celebrating the first week of class, families will now need to make funeral arrangements. Jason, it doesn't have to be like this. Every school year, parents across the country endure the same ritual of sending their children to class only to learn that there has been yet another tragic school shooting. And each new school year, more families join a circle of those whose lives are upended by gun violence. And the cycle of political impotence continues as politicians share thoughts and prayers, but take no real action to spare the next child's life from a violent end. Here in Maine, citizens are leading the fight to put a life-saving gun safety measure directly before voters this November. The Extreme Risk Protection Order initiative gives Mainers the power to prevent firearms from falling into the hands of those in crisis—an action that could spare lives and stop future tragedies before they happen. We need you to join us in this fight—for every child across Maine, Nacole Maine Gun Safety Coalition |
