We don't have to live like this. No American should have to wake up with their healthcare in jeopardy, yet that is exactly what is happening because of this government shutdown.
Marianette Miller-Meeks has put partisanship ahead of the needs of Iowans. Her unwavering support for MAGA extremists is driving this shutdown. This shutdown threatens to cut off vital federal grants that many healthcare services rely on. As a result, our neighbors risk losing access to the care they need and deserve.
Miller-Meeks voted for the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill," which slashed healthcare services. Now, she has refused to compromise with Democrats to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits, directly contributing to the government shutdown.
Government is about compromise and negotiation. Somewhere along the way, Marianette Miller-Meeks seems to have forgotten that.
We deserve leaders who show up, not to score political points to win elections, but ALL the time. We can fight back and hold her accountable, but we need to start now. If you're able, I hope you'll consider making a contribution today so we can bring new, principled leadership to this district. |
