| Jason, Right now, we're focusing on our legislative priorities beyond the upcoming session. Passing Extreme Risk Protections Orders earlier this month was a great start, but there is still more to do to keep our kids, our families, and our communities safe. One of our top goals is strengthening Maine's safe storage laws to keep kids and families protected. This is one of the most effective ways to prevent school shootings, suicides, and homicides. Maine's current law doesn't even apply past the age of 16 years old…and most school shooters are 16 or older. We're also looking to pass Large Capacity Magazine restrictions. As Max Zachau, a lifelong Maine hunter, reminded lawmakers earlier this year – why should ducks in Maine have more protections than kids in a classroom? At the same time, we're working to ensure municipalities can restrict guns in their public proceedings and voting places when their voters decide it's right for their community. None of this progress will happen without a strong gun sense majority in our State House. With Giving Tuesday just days away, your support right now will help us plan our electoral engagement in the year ahead and will determine how boldly we can fight for these life-saving reforms. Will you chip in today to help us build the momentum we need heading into 2026? Your donation will power advocacy, organizing, and the work it takes to turn these policies into law. |
