For months, he insisted to Georgians he had no control over his own stock portfolio. But recent reports reveal he’s been lying all along, and that federal investigators found Senator Perdue did personally direct his own stock trades. It’s very simple, Jason: David Perdue downplayed the virus. He lied to Georgians. Georgians got sick. And he got rich. I am running for Senate to root out corruption so government actually serves the people. He could have tried to increase access to health care instead of trying to gut the Affordable Care Act. He could have pushed for economic relief instead of opposing $1,200 stimulus checks for working families. Instead, David Perdue was busy making a flurry of stock trades to line his own pockets and fighting AGAINST $1,200 stimulus checks for working families. And Jason, my opponent had been using his office to enrich himself well before the pandemic. A key House Democrat has requested a federal investigation into Perdue’s trading of a Navy contractor's stock while he was overseeing the Naval fleet as Chairman of the Senate Seapower Subcommittee. And we just learned Perdue was also trading bank stocks while serving on the Senate Banking Committee! Perdue's misconduct is repeated and flagrant. He is using his office to enrich himself, and he's refusing to debate me because he knows he can't defend the indefensible. We can do so much better than him.
