Republicans blocked the January 6 commission → It’s time to pass the For The People Act

It's no surprise that the same Republicans who voted to overturn the results of a fair and free election are now the same ones who did not vote to investigate the devastating attack on the U.S. Capitol.  That's why it is absolutely necessary that we work to pass the For The People Act (S. 1, H.R. 1). By filibustering the January 6 commission, Republicans are clearly demonstrating that they'll go to extreme lengths just to subvert our democracy. We need the Senate to pass S. 1 to stop these Republicans from rigging our democracy. You can help get this crucial bill signed into law by writing a letter to your local newspaper highlighting why the U.S. Senate needs to pass S.1: Will you write a letter to the editor today calling on the U.S. Senate to pass the For The People Act (S. 1/H.R. 1)? It'll only take a few minutes and will make a huge difference in making sure this critical piece of legislation is passed. The best way to protect our electoral system is by passing the For The People Act (S. 1, H.R. 1) — which would protect our democracy by curbing voter suppression and overhauling campaign finance laws to amplify the voices of the people.  Republican power grabs like blocking the important January 6 commission have no place in our democracy.
