President Biden just signed marriage equality into law
For the first time in American history, we have a federal law on the books recognizing the institution of marriage for same-sex and interracial couples.
Jason —
Moments ago, President Biden signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law.
For the first time in American history, we have a federal law on the books recognizing the institution of marriage for same-sex and interracial couples.
After the Supreme Court's misguided decision to overturn Roe v. Wade this summer, Justice Clarence Thomas strongly suggested that the Court's same-sex marriage decision in Obergefell v. Hodges could be next.
Then, Republican Senator Mike Braun of Indiana made the outrageous suggestion that the 1967 decision in Loving v. Virginia could be overturned as well.
Our Democratic House and Senate majorities have taken strong action to protect the institution of marriage, no matter who you love.
