Private hazard insurance costs are rising astronomically, undermining property values and driving home purchasing costs to unaffordable levels in areas prone to climate disasters. Our government is not prepared to cope with the continued disasters brought on by the climate crisis. We need a complete overhaul of federal disaster relief.
