Expanding Medicaid coverage would make it easier for Floridians to see healthcare providers and receive the medical treatments they need without having to worry about finances. 2,357,500 Almost 2.5 million Floridians don't have health insurance. Many have to make the difficult choice to go without care because they can't afford the services they need. That should never happen. Right now, Florida has one of the strictest eligibility requirements for Medicaid recipients. But we're trying to change that so more Floridians can be covered, and more Floridians can afford healthcare. 76 Seventy-six percent of Floridians support Medicaid expansion. They want to see their tax dollars come directly back to Florida to improve healthcare access. But popularity alone won't be enough.
