Juneteenth is a day of celebration — a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the hope that has carried Black Americans through generations of struggle and triumph. Today is a time to reflect on how far we've come, and to commit ourselves to the fight that still lies ahead.

Because let's be clear: the legacy of white supremacy still lingers in our country. Today's fights — for voting rights, economic justice, health care access, and safe communities — are the same fights Dr. King and so many others led right here in Georgia.

So, as we celebrate this day of freedom, we must remember: Freedom is not fully realized until all of us are free.

I'm committed to continuing the work and fighting for true racial justice and equity every single day. Because the promise of America — freedom, liberty, and opportunity — must belong to everyone.

Thank you,

Congresswoman Nikema Williams
