| Jason, Today marks three years since the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. As Speaker of the Michigan State House, I was proud to lead the fight to repeal Michigan's archaic abortion ban, but the work doesn't end there. Reproductive healthcare is about more than abortion–it includes access to birth control, miscarriage care, and fertility treatment like IVF. While serving as Speaker, I worked to pass legislation that expanded access to contraception by requiring insurance coverage and allowing pharmacists to prescribe contraceptives. In addition, we passed legislation to allow Michiganders the ability to grow their families through IVF treatment and legalized surrogacy. I recently co-authored a Detroit News op-ed about the role men play in women's health. The fight doesn't belong to women alone, and more men need to step up and do everything we can to protect reproductive health because it impacts everyone in a family when a woman isn't able to get the care or treatment they need. Our rights are only as secure as the coalition that protects them. And we need that coalition to be bigger, stronger, and more vocal. So, while Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans continue to attack our rights and freedoms, I'm ready to go to Washington and ensure Michiganders can access the care they need for generations to come. If you're with me, will you contribute to my campaign today to join us in this fight? |
