| Jason, As a public leader and paratrooper, I've learned that real leadership is about showing up when the stakes are high. On November 2nd, 2020, my wife, Krystle, and I welcomed our second child, AJ, into the world. The day after, I got a call from the Biden team while I was in the hospital with my day-old son and wife. They asked me to come down to the TCF Center, where the Detroit ballots were being counted. MAGA Republicans were trying to stop the count by discarding thousands of Detroiters' ballots. With Krystle's blessing, I left the hospital to be present and push back on the Trump narrative that the election was being stolen. When I got there, MAGA Republicans were singing and banging on the glass windows and saying, "Their votes shouldn't decide this election." My entire life has been about responding to tough situations as a firefighter, soldier, and senator. When the need was great, I showed up. As your Secretary of State, I promise I'll keep showing up and delivering. I got into this race for the same reason I enlisted in the Army: I believe that our country is worth fighting for, and that means raising your right hand and saying, "Send me." I'm raising my children here, and I want them to grow up in a place where elections are fair, their leaders represent them, and their voices count. That's what my campaign for Michigan Secretary of State is about: being ready to protect our democracy from those who are working to undermine it. Whether it's from a moving airplane or from behind a desk, when Michigan families need me, you can trust me to be there. Now, I'm asking you to join me by pitching in $10, or whatever you can, to help me build this campaign's strength and continue this fight for Michigan's future: |
Thank you for reading. This story shaped the kind of leader I am, and the Secretary of State I'm ready to be. For our families and their future, Adam |
