Last month, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly and Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin, along with other veterans in Congress, released a video reiterating the oath taken by military members across the country: following and defending the United States Constitution and its laws, not the President and his illegal orders.
What they did wasn't by any means seditious or radical. In fact, their statement was a brave example of real leadership: doing the right thing, speaking up for our democracy, and advocating for our troops. |
| But Donald Trump has called for Senator Mark Kelly to be hanged. Along with Pete Hegseth, he is now also threatening him with a federal investigation, administrative punishment, and to un-retire him for court martial.
Attacks against veterans who risked their lives for us and know firsthand the threat of political violence are completely unacceptable. I'm a military captain and member of the reserves. I understand the gravity of this situation and, most importantly, I'm willing to speak up about it.
I'm running for Michigan Secretary of State because, as a candidate with extensive legislative and military experience, I know how to directly protect American citizens and troops from government overreach just as Senator Mark Kelly did.
