This district is one of the few races that will decide control of the House. Republicans know it and they are already acting like it.
They are lining up behind my former opponent Anthony D'Esposito. This is the same politician who was exposed for giving his mistress a taxpayer-funded no-show job and was named one of the most corrupt members of Congress. He was endorsed by Donald Trump and protected by party leaders who care more about power than accountability.
Republicans believe this seat is their clearest path to keeping control.
What I have learned from running and winning close races is this: strong early support changes everything. It lets us organize sooner and it lets us set the terms of this race instead of reacting to outside attacks later.
This campaign is powered by people who care about this district and what happens next. Holding this seat is the only way Democrats can flip the House.
