Democratic Values

Jason,

Multiple huge U.S.-based companies like Starbucks, Amazon, and other US companies have been union-busting to stop workers from bargaining for better wages and benefits, safer working conditions, and a voice in the workplace.

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), has accused major corporations of illegal anti-union practices including firing workers in retaliation for supporting a union.
  • Chipotle is accused of illegal retaliation when it shut down a store shortly after workers in Augusta, Maine, petitioned for a unionization vote.
  • Apple is accused of illegally spying on and threatening workers which led workers in Atlanta to withdraw their request to hold a unionization election.
  • Trader Joe's closed its wine shop in New York City days before workers planned to announce a union election. The workers have accused Trader Joe's of shutting the store to quash the union drive and retaliate against the workers.
  • Tesla fired dozens of workers in Buffalo when they announced plans to unionize there. Union supporters complained to the NLRB that Tesla dismissed 37 workers in retaliation for union activity.
Workers are going up against billionaires and billion-dollar companies with an endless supply of resources, and our labor laws, which have been weakened by corporate interests, aren't adequate to protect them.

The Protect the Right to Organize (PRO) Act would restore the right of workers to freely and fairly form a union and bargain together for changes in the workplace. Unions are essential to an economy that works for the workers of America.

It's time to stand up for labor rights! Sign on to OPPOSE union-busting by greedy corporations and support strong labor laws like those in the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act!
