Just when you thought the Alaska GOP couldn't get any more shameless, they go and pull something like this.
FIRST: An overwhelming majority of Alaska legislators voted in favor of SB40, including the most significant increase to the BSA in Alaska's history!
THEN: Gov. Dunleavy vetoed SB40, and the Alaska State Legislature failed to override the Governor's veto by ONE vote, with 17 Republicans flip-flopping on the bill.
NOW: We're launching a Veto-proof Majority Fund with a $5,000 launch goal to flip the seats we need to secure a veto-proof majority in the Alaska State Legislature and deliver for our public schools and students.
Jason, Alaska schools, and families deserve better. Despite all their talk about making Alaska a family-friendly state, these GOP legislators proved that they are willing to put politics over supporting our students.
If we're going to deliver the necessary funding to our school districts, then we need to secure a veto-proof majority so that GOP flip-floppers can't hold our schools hostage. Will you chip in anything you can spare to help us reach our $5,000 Veto-proof Majority Fund launch goal and elect pro-public school champions across Alaska? |
