Jason, Small businesses are the lifeblood of New York's neighborhoods. But now, a new report shows what New Yorkers already know: Many storefront businesses have not recovered from the pandemic. According to the Small Business Services Department, the city's double-digit storefront vacancy rate is almost identical to the height of the pandemic. More than 16,000 storefronts sit vacant! Empty shops depress our communities. They also mean a loss of essential services, small business owners not building our economy, fewer jobs, and less tax revenue to fund our schools and city services. Why are we still looking at blocks of empty stores years after lockdowns ended? When Scott Stringer is mayor, he'll finish the job of bringing back New York City. That means helping New York City's struggling small businesses with tax incentives and other relief measures, streamlining city approvals, and encouraging startups in high-vacancy corridors that still need to bounce back. Scott will revitalize our city's economy, but we need your support to take on Eric Adams. Please join us by contributing now. The city matches all donations from $10 to $250 from NYC residents 8 to 1. So your $10 donation becomes $90! |
Thank you for your support, Team Stringer |
