Well, we just got confirmation that it's not just some conspiracy theory.
Asked if Trump plans to replace as many as 50,000 federal employees with loyalists and cronies, Steve Bannon said the story is "100%" accurate, adding "that's just the tip of the iceberg."
That should set off alarm bells. Instead, it's not getting much coverage at all. The MAGA crowd is telegraphing their extreme plans to voters. They're saying it all out in the open.
Our job in the next six months is to make sure the voters who will decide this election know all about Trump's plans to rip up the Constitution and destroy our democracy. There are millions of people we need to reach, and every donation helps expand our ability to do exactly that — will you chip in today?
The entirety of the Project 2025 document reads like a despot's fever dream — with plans to deploy the military to U.S. cities to "enforce the law," ban contraception and marriage equality, and lower taxes for the wealthiest among us to get corporate America to go along with all of it.
I'd like to think that things like that could never happen in America. But I also used to believe a lot of other things would never happen here. The last eight years have forced me to take these threats seriously.
Fortunately, our research is clear that there are large parts of the electorate that hear things like this from Trump and think it's immediately disqualifying. We just can't bank on these voters finding out about it, without a grassroots operation like ours making sure of it.
There are millions of voters who, if they're reached with the right messenger and the right message, will abandon Trump at the polls. The question is how many of them can we reach before November — chip in right now and let's give it everything we've got.
