Jason,
I talk a lot about pro-democracy voters being key to the outcome of this election. Here's why:
Our research shows there's an entire contingent of the electorate who, if motivated, will vote to defeat Donald Trump. These folks tend to be from military families, or veterans themselves, and in a normal election (if those exist anymore) would lean toward voting Republican. But they see and understand the dangers that Trump poses. They worry about what a second term would mean for our democracy.
We've found that the best messengers for that audience are people who, like them, have served and who don't typically weigh in on electoral politics. But the threat of Trump becoming president again has gotten them off the sidelines. If we can reach enough of those pro-democracy voters with these patriotic messengers, Trump can't win.
Now here's something I don't want anyone to miss:
We're not talking about a few thousand people scattered across the country. We're talking about over 580,000 in Arizona alone, 380,000 voters in Wisconsin, and nearly 1 million in North Carolina.
In most battleground states, pro-democracy voters make up about 10% of the electorate. We don't have to win over all of them — we just need to reach enough. That's why I send emails like this. The more we can raise, the more voters we can reach. And I believe with my whole heart that this grassroots team will come through for our democracy.
Make a donation right now and let's do everything we can in as many states as we can to defeat Donald Trump for good.
Thank you,
Amy
