It's been a wild ride lately, so let's review:
FIRST: the world learned about Project 2025: the MAGA blueprint for a second Trump term, which would dismantle the government from the inside and install Trump as an all-powerful president. (It's a big deal.)
THEN: Donald Trump and his campaign denied they had anything to do with it — never mind, of course, that it was authored by a host of Trump advisors.
NOW: the lead architect of Project 2025 is publishing a book about these plans to take over the government. And you're never going to believe who wrote the foreword and a rave review. Yep, it's Trump's running mate, J.D. Vance.
The truth is J.D. Vance was picked because he'll do two things Mike Pence wouldn't: He'll let Putin take Ukraine, and he would've overturned the results of the 2020 election. In the moments after he joined Trump's ticket, there was champagne popping in Moscow. And in some stuffy conference room in Washington, D.C., you can imagine the architects of Project 2025 breaking out cigars.
These guys know in Vance, they have an ally who will help end democracy in America.
These are the stakes in this election, and I'm ready to fight like hell to make sure we win it. Will you chip in right now to help fund our program to reach pro-democracy voters in key battleground states?
Project 2025 is a laundry list of abhorrent right-wing fever dreams — with plans to deploy the military to American cities, round up immigrants for mass deportation, codify a national abortion ban, abolish the Department of Education, and purge federal employees who aren't sufficiently loyal to MAGA. (And that's not even close to all.)
Now we know these plans have a full-throated endorsement from the man who wants to be vice president of the United States. This isn't a campaign gaffe or a gotcha moment — this is their dark plan for our country's future.
Let's make sure they never get a chance to put it into action.
