Jason, In Alaska, our state legislature is like no other. While partisanship dominates state legislatures in the Lower 48, here in Alaska, we've always put community first. That's because we know that our strength lies in our ability to come together and build each other up in the face of adversity. Our state legislature is a cross-partisan coalition of Democratic, Republican, and Independent legislators from the State House and Senate – and we just need to flip one seat to secure a veto-proof majority! Gov. Mike Dunleavy used his veto power to stop an education bill that passed with overwhelming bipartisan support. This bill included a historic increase in the BSA funding formula as well as funding to expand broadband access to students in some of the most remote parts of the state. In Alaska's vast Interior State House race, Alaska Democrat Brandon Putuuqi Kowalski finished first in a primary battle against four other Republicans. Investing in critical battleground districts like this will be critical to securing a majority that will prioritize the needs of our families, our public schools, and our environment. |
For the love of Alaska! AK Dems |
