Jason, I spent the night on the House floor fighting against the horrific budget bill that just passed through Congress because I know the consequences are going to be staggering. Over 17 million Americans will lose access to health care under this bill. That includes more than 125,000 people right here in Georgia's 5th District. In Georgia, Medicaid covers 45% of all births and 51% of our children. Cutting acces to health care means families will be forced to make impossible choices. Add your name to help me continue fighting to protect access to care and standing up for working families in Georgia and across the country While patients worry whether they can afford the care they need and workers wonder if their labor will bring them closer to the promise of America, the top 0.1% will be receiving an average annual tax cut of $255,670 right here in the Fighting Fifth. These cuts will not be felt in the wallets of billionaires, but in the lives of parents forced to delay their own health care and nurses facing job loss because of devastating Medicaid cuts. This bill is not about fiscal responsibility. It is about prioritizing tax breaks for the wealthy over the health and economic well-being of working families and rural communities. I've been committed to fighting back against Trump's disastrous bill because in the Fighting Fifth and beyond, the American people will suffer. Now, we cannot let Republicans' decision go unanswered. We HAVE to stand up to this. Let me know you're with me in the fight to protect access to care and hold Republicans accountable for the harm they just caused here: I will never stop fighting for the people of Georgia's Fighting Fifth. We deserve leaders who protect our care, not ones who take it away. With you, Congresswoman Nikema Williams Georgia's Fighting Fifth | | |
