Draconian anti-choice bills are being pushed around the country – and the Supreme Court could overturn Roe v. Wade. I'm worried, like many doctors, advocates, and Michiganders, that the clock on reproductive rights will be turned back 50 years.
Here in Michigan, the clock could roll back even further—all the way to 1931.
If Roe is overturned, Michiganders could be forced to live under a nearly century old, dangerous abortion ban. And across the country, many people face this same fate.
In other words, the stakes couldn't be higher. A future in which we lose the right to a safe and legal abortion is very real.
That's why I filed a lawsuit and asked the Michigan Supreme Court to ensure Michigan's arcane abortion ban never goes into effect, even if the United States Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade.
And while I'm standing strong to protect reproductive rights, anti-choice radicals and their special interest backers are prepared to pour millions of dollars into attack ads.
