But thanks to Pell Grants, low-interest loans, and a whole lot of love from my parents, I became the first in my family to graduate from college. | | Here's the hard truth: The opportunities that led to my achieving the American dream – from getting my degree, to preaching from the same pulpit as Martin Luther King Jr., to serving as Georgia's first Black senator – are becoming fewer and further between.
Today, too many of our young people are leaving school with historic amounts of debt.
