Clay Middleton here — Senior Advisor for Dirt Road PAC, reporting to you from Charleston, South Carolina.
Coming up in South Carolina politics, I've spent a lot of time organizing across our state to grow the Democratic Party here and in states across the South.
I've had the opportunity to do that work alongside my good friend Jaime Harrison — long before most folks got to know him for challenging our Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham. That work continues to this day.
I've also worked closely with our House Majority Whip, Rep. Jim Clyburn. Together, we worked to help flip a congressional seat here in Charleston in 2018 to retake our House majority.
Through it all, I've come to a few key conclusions about the future of the Democratic Party that guide our mission here at Dirt Road PAC HQ:
We need to commit to deep, authentic grassroots organizing year-round.
We need to invest in the digital tools to reach voters with cutting-edge technology and the most up-to-date data.
We need to register new voters.
And we need to support grassroots organizers who are educating and mobilizing voters.
But in order for us to build this people-powered movement, first, we need to hear from you.
